2 men arrested for outrage of modesty in separate cases: 1 molested 3 teens aged 13 to 15

Two men, aged 30 and 44, have been arrested for their suspected involvement in separate cases of outrage of modesty that occurred on buses.

In the first case, the police received a report on January 12 that a 20-year-old woman had been molested by an unknown man on a bus.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the 30-year-old man and arrested him on Tuesday.

For the second case, the police received reports on January 13 and January 18 that three females, aged between 13 and 15, had been molested by an unknown man on a bus.

Through investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the 44-year-old man and arrested him on Monday.

Police investigations are ongoing for the first case.

The 44-year-old suspect involved in the second case will be charged in court on Wednesday (Jan 20) with outrage of modesty to a person under 14 years of age.

The offence carries a jail term of up to five years and/or a fine and/or caning.
