Four men, aged between 64 and 81, were arrested for their suspected involvement in public gaming activities, the police said in a news release today (Jan 29).
The suspects were arrested along Crawford Lane on Jan 27 by officers from the Central Police Division.
A total of $766 cash was seized.
Investigations are ongoing.
Under the Common Gaming Houses Act, any person gaming in public is guilty of an offence and, on conviction, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to a prison term not more than six months, or both.
The police said that they will continue to take tough action against those involved in such illegal activities.
